About Daniel James Homewood

Oxfordshire wedding and engagement photographer. My approach is strictly documentary, capturing your special day as it unfolds with honesty and style.

Probably the most significant thing you need to know is that I work entirely with 35mm film. As such, you won’t receive thousands of images to choose from. You will however receive a carefully curated documentary photo story printed as a luxury coffee table photobook. And of course all edited images will also be provided in digital form.

I am a professional photojournalist and I make my best work when I am free from constraint, immersed in the moment and capturing not how it looks but how it feels to be at your wedding. Sometimes raw, sometimes funny but always honest, my uncompromising style and strict adherence to capturing the reality in front of me is what allows me to elicit an emotional response to my images. All I need from you is to simply do me the honour of being yourselves.

Nothing more, nothing less…

FAQs

I don't charge travel for distances taking up to 1 1/2 hours, but for longer than this I would need to stay the night before and the night of your wedding to allow me to be well rested and at my very best. I have no set rate for this as I'd rather work with you to find the most sensible option. Travel in Europe carries a flat rate of £400. Outside of Europe is dependent on location.

So my only wedding rate of £2250 includes: - A full day shooting [bride(s)/groom(s) prep to shortly after the first dance] - A 90 minute location engagement shoot - As many consultations as needed to get your day organised - A curated and finished coffee table photobook - All edited images on usb in a personalised box - A framed metallic (digital) print which has the negative set into the mount as well!

Unlike digital photography, I don't have the luxury of shooting unlimited images for free! Every day is different and I will only give you the very best of my work to keep the quality of your product as high as you deserve it to be. I will shoot around 35 - 40 rolls of film (1260 - 1440 frames) and this is more than enough to fully cover your day. The most important deliverable is your photobook and this will contain between 40 - 60 images and tell your story in a classical documentary photography narrative style. I always aim to deliver at least the top 10% of my work which should provide a minimum of 120 high res fine art documentary photographs.
