Bakerwood Marquees & Events

All our marquees are modular so can be bespoke to the space you have with in reason. All our main structures are in 10m widths we also have smaller 6m and 3m widths. As an example for a wedding of 80 guests you may require 10m x 21m. However if you space is smaller than this or a different shape we may be able to do a 10m x 15m with a 6m x 12m structure on the side.

Usually most marquee or tipi company's require a flat area to build, however this is not the case with our structures. We can build on most slopes and level out the ground using our substructure floor system. We can build over flower beds, HaHas, undulating ground. We can build up to about 6ft off the ground.

Substructure floor is the only flooring we provide, we use this to level out the ground. Even if you think you have a level site you will be surprised, once we have finished you maybe 2ft off the ground at one corner. A laser level is used to calculate the floor level to make sure it is accurate. Our flooring is then covered with new event carpet, with a colour of your choice.

We don't build marquees between October and April. This is mainly down to unpredictable weather. We would hate the thought of having to call off an event because it wasn't safe enough to build.

Weather can be unpredictable at times. When it comes to rain, our marquees are extremely water tight. Because the structure isn't directly on the ground and is attached to our raised flooring system, the water simply runs under the marquee floor not through it. If you have two structures side by side we do have gutters running between them, you can get the occasional drip but nothing alarming.

We can provide low level heating that is extremely effective and guarantees your guests to be toasty warm in minutes, guests defiantly won't be requiring there jackets inside. In fact we are more often asked for the heating to be turned off!

Airconditioning doesnt tend to work in a marquee, we have looked into it in the past. We can open up sides of the marquee as long as we are a safe height off the ground. We tend to advice against clear roofs in the main summer months as they often turn the marquee into a green house.

We have loads of different lighting options for all budgets, from a simple fairy light ceiling throughout. To crystal chandeliers, star cloth ceilings and lighting technicians staying at your event to manage the lighting through out the evening.

95% of our events require generators. The average wedding requires a 40kva 3 phase generator. We always insist on a back-up generator. This is for peace of mind, with the amount of money that is spent on a wedding, if the power went off at 9pm by the time you have waited for an engineer or back-up to arrive the party atmosphere would be over and guests would start to leave. If a back-up is on site you can be up and going again in less than 5 minutes. Although generators rarely breakdown it does happen.

We have all our own furniture. Tables, Chairs, Dance floor, Bars, Sofas, Poser Tables, Garden Furniture. There are a minimum of 2 styles of everything so you can have a choice of modern or traditional. Eg Wooden Chairs or Clear Chairs. Wooden Bar or Mirror Bar etc.

You can decorate however you like with flowers, bunting, balloons etc. We like to provide majority of the furnishings and have the marquee fully lined.

The average marquee takes two days to build and one day to take down. If your event was on a Saturday we would always have the marquee finished for the Thursday night. This is so you have the Friday to decorate and set tables and also gives you piece of mind that nothing is last minute. If we are building at hotels there maybe more restriction on build times and often we have to build on a Thursday and Friday.
