Hello! I’m Sue – welcome to Malden and Wilde.
I am not your conventional florist. I work from home, I’m self taught – and I specialise in quality silk flowers
I haven’t always been florist. For many years I worked as Sixth Form Centre Manager of a large secondary school – a job I loved. I relish a challenge, but worry over swingeing cuts to staff, the long hours, high pressure and stress started to take their toll. And when I had a panic attack (I don’t do panic attacks!) I finally realised that it was time to make changes.
Today, I am thrilled and incredibly proud to be a wedding florist! The blooms I choose bring romance and beauty to every couple's special day. My style is gentle and natural - think country chic and rustic – rich in flowers and rich in meaning. Researching the ancient and utterly beautiful meanings of every flower adds to the magic! (I give every couple a special gift from me of the language of their flowers as a keepsake.)
Hearing the stories of my couples, and their wedding plans, pings my romantic heart – and I buzz with excitement and ideas of how their vision can be translated into stunning reality.
It is such a privilege to be able to contribute to a couple's wedding day, even in small way. I feel very lucky to have found my niche in this wonderful industry.
