FAQs

Registrars are employed by the local authority and are authorised to conduct legally binding marriage and civil partnership ceremonies. They are also responsible for the administration of registering births, marriages and deaths. Independent Celebrants are self-employed and conduct non-legally binding celebration ceremonies. The most important difference is that by choosing a Celebrant you will have a ceremony that is unique and personal to you, getting to know you in advance and working closely with you on the script; a registrar will usually use a standard script and it is unlikely you would meet them before the ceremony day itself.

An Independent Celebrant will tailor the ceremony to whatever their client wishes, including religious elements. A Humanist Celebrant does not include any elements outside of their beliefs.

I will need to meet you prior to your wedding day, to get to know you, your love story. This will enable to to create your ceremony to reflect your personalities and uniqueness as a couple. The meeting can be held at your home, the venue, a mutually agreeable location or we can meet virtually if this is your preference.

As soon as you decide on the date of your wedding, civil partnership, commitment or vow renewal ceremony.

Yes, the creation of your service is included in my packages.

Absolutely, many couples choose to do this, it adds a real sense of meaning to the ceremony. I can support you with resources to assist you and of course, I am more than happy to help or make suggestions to inspire you! I would ask that you provide me with copies of your ceremony or vows so I can include them in your script. I will print copies onto card for you to read during the ceremony. If you wish, the vows can be left out of the draft script so that they remain a surprise until the day.

The beauty of choosing a Independent Celebrant led ceremony,is that there are no rules around what you can or can't include in your ceremony .

Yes I cater for all couples wanting to celebrate their love for each other!

I believe that love is love, my ceremonies are fully inclusive for all faiths and cultures.

The current Law means that as an Independent Celebrant I cannot perform legally binding ceremonies, however this is under review and proposals to change the law are in progress.
