FAQs

A Registrar will only be able to change the names on a template which cannot be altered or personalised. A Registrar will not get to know you and be with you on your wedding planning journey, or give you advice on how to truly personalise your ceremony, how to include your own rituals and symbolism or religious content if you wish to do that. A Registrar is unable to guarantee they will be the person that actually performs your wedding ceremony on the day. A Registrar is locked into a diary and will have several other appointments on the same day - unlike a Celebrant, who will arrive up to an hour beforehand, ensure all runs smoothly, speak to all your guests, help with last minute changes or calming nerves, work with the photographer and other professionals to ensure you are the centre of the ceremony and all the nuances - such as surprise Vows, a ring warming ceremony etc - are captured for your everlasting memories! A Celebrant is flexible, has no restriction in terms of format, content, location, time of day, or length of ceremony. We like to say "YES"!

A humanist is a non religious belief system based on self and science and not worship or an organised religion. Humanists offer weddings that at secular Eg not including spirituality or religion. My ceremonies can also be secular but can and are able to be multi faith, and contain religious and spiritual content if the couples want this to be represented too as part of their ceremony.

All ceremonies are a collaboration, and are usually worked on between the Celebrant and the couple - after a first draft which is where the couple can see whether the tone, content, format etc are what they expected. As the Celebrant will get to know the couple quite well over time, this first draft often just requires tweaking. However, if there is something you really want to have included in the Ceremony script, you are welcome to either write some of this yourselves, or ask your Celebrant to make the edits and amendments. When it comes to your own Vows, as a Celebrant it really is lovely to encourage couples to write their own. It is often kept as a surprise for the other partner during the ceremony, and this does make it quite a daunting task. I am more than happy to provide examples, advice and support on Vow writing - but in the end, when you are looking into the eyes of the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, anything you say, that comes from your heart, is totally perfect! If a couple feel they are not ready or too shy to create and say their own vows, I can write them so they become a question instead of a statement. This allows the couple to just answer " I DO" or "I Will" to the questions. Some couples also choose to have the traditional Wedding Vows, "to have and to hold, from this day forward...." etc. And some couples will have traditional Vows, followed by their own personally written Vows. It is something I can discuss with you and we can decide what will work best for you at such an emotional moment in the ceremony.

My price starts at £650 for a script only and £950 for a complete ceremony with two rituals and bilingual if wished. Beyond this is a package which includes my time after the ceremony as your MC and host.

Yes I will write the complete ceremony for you. It will be a reflection of your relationship, your story and the hopes and dreams you have together for the future.

Yes, of course! Your wedding ceremony is a reflection of your love and committment to each other, and celebrates your relationship. There is nothing different fundamentally, but there are some elements that we would discuss that you might wish to consider - such as how you wish to enter the ceremony space, how you wish to be addressed (which pronouns you may wish me to use) and also how you want me to present you at the ceremony Finale! I like to get to know my couples really well, how they feel about their ceremony, what they want from it, and for them to ask me lots of questions too! Together we will create a ceremony that respects, acknowledges, and celebrates you both!

No but you might like to include your own personal touches, rituals and traditions. Even religious or spiritual content. Let’s discuss!

As soon as you have booked your Venue, please consider booking your Celebrant. As we only conduct one wedding on any particular day, we really do book up quickly on key dates, and at weekends particularly through May to August. Ii recommend booking early - I am available for couples and their Ceremonies every day of the week, including Bank Holidays and therefore it might be useful to consider holding your ceremony in off peak months and early or mid week.

Yes absolutely. I respect all faith and will be guided by you in terms of how you wish to acknowledge your different faith.

Not necessarily but it’s nice to meet. As I Travel all over Europe and the uk it’s sometimes difficult to find the right time but we always have video calls in the interim.

As my ceremonies are symbolic with personalised content including spirituality or religious beliefs it’s not currently possible to register your marriage with an independent celebrant. There is a review of this happening now and we hope in time all celebrants are able to do this. If you want to legalise your marriage you can choose a standard service with two witnesses and a ten minute service which you repeat the 32 words in front of a registrar. There’s no need to exchange rings or vows.

No - I do this as part of the fee I charge for weddings.

I do charge for overnight accommodation but not for travel in the uk. For European destinations I will also charge for travel and accommodation.

This obviously varies but I can work to create the ceremony length you’re looking for. Average time is 25/30 minutes. A Bilingual ceremony script will be around 45-50 minutes

I divide my time between London and Berlin and offer weddings in Europe. Predominant are the German speaking parts of Europe like Switzerland Austria and Germany but offer Italy and France.

Our Sustainability Commitments

I try to leave nothing except a perfectly turned out footprint :) Sustainability is important as I officiate often in the open, by lakes and rivers, mountains and meadows and want to keep these spaces as pristine as possible. I will also not officiate with butterfly releases, dove releases, balloons or lanterns as these have been found to be both deadly and harmful and stressful for birds and animals. I use recycled paper for ceremonies and in the presentation folder. As i renew my stationery suite I will be considering how to make this more sustainable too.
