A Registrar will only be able to change the names on a template which cannot be altered or personalised. A Registra will not get to know you and be with you on your wedding planning journey, or give you advice on how to truly personalise your ceremony, how to include your own rituals and symbolism or religious content if you wish to do that. A Registrar is unable to guarantee they will be the person that actually performs your wedding ceremony on the day. A Registrar is locked into a diary and will have several other appointments on the same day - unlike a Celebrant, who will arrive up to an hour beforehand, ensure all runs smoothly, speak to all your guests, help with last minute changes or calming nerves, work with the photographer and other professionals to ensure you are the centre of the ceremony and all the nuances - such as surprise Vows, a ring warming ceremony etc - are captured for your everlasting memories! A Celebrant is flexible, has no restriction in terms of format, content, location, time of day, or length of ceremony. We like to say "YES"!
In a real sense, there might be very little difference as both will celebrate the joining of two people and the celebration of a lasting committment. However, a Celebrant ceremony is one that will reflect you in terms of your beliefs, your values, and your personality so religious content, spiritual content, secular content - all is possible with an independent celebrant, whereas the religious and spiritual does not follow Humanist philosophy. For myself, I am happy to include religion, hymns, prayers, spiritual or other beliefs, and work with you to craft a wedding ceremony that will reflect you and your partner in an authentic, sincere and meaningful way.
All ceremonies are a collaboration, and are usually worked on between the Celebrant and the couple - after a first draft which is where the couple can see whether the tone, content, format etc are what they expected. As the Celebrant will get to know the couple quite well over time, this first draft often just requires tweaking. However, if there is something you really want to have included in the Ceremony script, you are welcome to either write some of this yourselves, or ask your Celebrant to make the edits and amendments. When it comes to your own Vows, as a Celebrant it really is lovely to encourage couples to write their own. It is often kept as a surprise for the other partner during the ceremony, and this does make it quite a daunting task. I am more than happy to provide examples, advice and support on Vow writing - but in the end, when you are looking into the eyes of the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, anything you say, that comes from your heart, is totally perfect! If a couple feel they are not ready or too shy to create and say their own vows, I can write them so they become a question instead of a statement. This allows the couple to just answer " I DO" or "I Will" to the questions. Some couples also choose to have the traditional Wedding Vows, "to have and to hold, from this day forward...." etc. And some couples will have traditional Vows, followed by their own personally written Vows. It is something I can discuss with you and we can decide what will work best for you at such an emotional moment in the ceremony.
Yes, of course! Your wedding ceremony is a reflection of your love and committment to each other, and celebrates your relationship. There is nothing different fundamentally, but there are some elements that we would discuss that you might wish to consider - such as how you wish to enter the ceremony space, how you wish to be addressed (which pronouns you may wish me to use) and also how you want me to present you at the ceremony Finale! I like to get to know my couples really well, how they feel about their ceremony, what they want from it, and for them to ask me lots of questions too! Together we will create a ceremony that respects, acknowledges, and celebrates you both!
Yes I do. I have created several multi faith ceremonies, and it is truly wonderful to be able to show the unique background, personality and story of a couple who celebrate faith differently. We will be able to incorporate both faith and religion, and if at all possible, weave these into the rituals and symbolism throughout the ceremony. I have also worked occasionally with a family priest and pastor, and asked them to take part in the ceremony too, which was absolutely lovely.
As the next year is a 2020 year, it is important to book quickly as my availability is already around 45% and significant dates are filling quickly. As soon as you have booked your Venue, please consider booking your Celebrant. As we only conduct one wedding on any particular day, we really do book up quickly on key dates, and at weekends particularly through May to August. It is worth mentioning though that because we will work 7 days a week, it might be possible to utilise more off peak months and days of the week.

Congratulations, it's lovely to meet you! I am so proud to have led over 200 ceremonies since 2011. I speak English & German, and divide my time between the UK & Europe, creating authentic, sincere, personalised ceremonies for couples and families.
I am passionate about offering couples the ceremony that truly reflects their personality and their dreams. Combining storytelling within a heart-centred ceremony means that each ceremony is totally unique and complete in itself. It is a wonderful opportunity to include your family and guests as participants not merely spectators. Your ceremony will contain your style and ideas, and using my experience we will create a wonderful occasion, new memories, and even perhaps some new traditions! Your ceremony will be fun, but also sincere, relaxed but also personal and special. No two ceremonies are the same, as every couple has a unique story to tell. Let me tell your love story on your special day. No rush, no restrictions on format, content, location, but filled with lashings of love!
