The following are details of churches in Glasgow & South West Scotland. Until 2008 couples planning a Church of England wedding could only marry in their local church. The Marriage Measure 2008 allows couples to marry in a church with which they have a strong connection. The act does not allow you to marry in any church; there must be a connection, for example that you once lived in the area, or your parents got married there.
If Alvescot St Peter, Alvescot is your local parish church or if you have another legally-recognised connection with it, we'd love to hear from you to discuss your plans for marriage. To find out more about connections that enable you to marry in a particular church, see the Church of England's weddings web site for more details.
