 Who are we?

Founded in 2013, the UK Spa Association (UKSA) is the official not-for-profit trade body for the nation's 8000 spas and salons. We were set up in response to a clear industry desire for an impartial and proactive body to represent and promote the spa industry.

Comprised of members and partners from across the UK spa, salon and wellness sector, the UKSA is run by an energetic board of industry experts that have been recruited for their specific skillsets and experience.

We are passionate about championing the benefits of regular spa attendance and treatments in the public eye, progressing the positive contribution made by the spa and salon industry to UK health, social and economic wellbeing, and driving continuous improvement in quality training, inclusiveness, high standards and professionalism at all levels. Ultimately we are assisting the growth of the spa industry as a whole.

National Spa Week is our annual flagship consumer PR and Communications event. It is the only UK event of its kind that unites the spa and salon industry to increase consumer awareness around the physical and mental health benefits of regular treatments and spa attendance, while actively driving additional sales through participating outlets during a dedicated week of promotions, activities and offers.

Simply put, our aim is to get more people, into more spas, more often.

Membership fee?

Membership fees depend upon a variety of criteria including your type of spa business, and your size.

Selective membership availability?

Types of membership are as follows:

  • Spa Operator
  • Spa Supplier
  • Student
  • Individual
  • Education Facility

Benefits of joining?

Our key benefits are built upon the four main pillars of:

  • Spa Business Help Line (SpaLine, Codes of Practice and Resources)
  • Events (Networking and Spa Directors Assemblies)
  • Benchmarking Insights
  • Campaigns

By focusing on these four pillars we want to provide true value for money to our members, specifically helping them to improve their own customer acquisition, retention and increasing their share of wallet.

In addition, by uniting small, private and independent industry competitors together, we can make many little voices into one big ‘shout’. We lead the way on sector thinking and standard setting, promoting best practice and improving industry reputation through self-regulation and by building proactive policies and long term strategic plans.

In the last two years we’ve attracted some major sponsors including Spabreaks.com, Lumity and Aromatherapy Associates to name but a few, which has enabled further investment and increased success in some key activities, including the increasingly popular networking events and National Spa Week.
