Suits2U – A Success Story
Pete Woodward from Suits2U
Winner of the Guides for Brides 2016 Customer Service Awards 2016 in the Menswear Category Suits2U owner and founder Peter Woodward told us what his first year of business has been like.
Q: What do you do?
A: We offer formal suit hire for weddings, proms and black tie events but with an interesting twist.
Q: What was your business idea?
A: To offer a hassle and stress free mobile formal hire wear service for grooms. From the initial consultation, to the fitting and delivery of the suits, we wanted to be able to offer this service from the comfort of the grooms own home and eliminate the hassle of traveling and parking. We do need to get all the wedding party together at one time but doing it in the comfort of the home makes it more of a sociable event then getting everyone into town.
Q: Why did you want to do this?
A: Sometimes finding the time to travel to generally a town center location can add to the stress and hassle of organising your wedding suit. We wanted to make this process as simple as possible for men and make a stressful and time consuming experience a more enjoyable and informal one.
Q: What were you doing before?
A: I currently still have a full time job as a purchasing manager as well as running Suits2U.
Q: How long have you been in business?
A: Suits2U have been in business for just 12 months. In that time we have kitted out more than 270 men in their formal wear.
Q: How long have you advertised with Guides for Brides?
A: I have been advertising with Guide for Brides since the launching of the company in April 2015.
Q: What has been your biggest lesson learnt?
A: Still being in full time employment and being busy co-ordinating bespoke home appointments for grooms and their male wedding parties, my biggest lesson has been to effectively manage my time.
Q: What has been your biggest success?
A: Completing the first year with so many positive reviews from couples that have used my service. This is a real drive to continue and succeed further. Winning the Guides for Brides Customer Service Award for Menswear in 2016 was a real highlight.
Q: What would be your biggest tip to anyone looking to start a wedding business?
A: To make sure that you research your field, look for ways that you can make your business offering or service slightly different from others and provide the highest level of service you can. Always work with the best people possible with regards to suppliers and advertising.
