Cashback, discounts and free gifts: ideas for your special offer

The Guides for Brides Booking Bonus rewards scheme is now live and already going down a storm with savvy brides. To make the most of the scheme and increase your relevant enquiries, we always recommend offering something unique to help you stand out. Here are some suggestions, and why they work to incentivise brides...

Cashback

Cashback is by far one of the most popular incentives for a bride to book a venue or supplier, and has distinct bonuses over simply offering a discount. 10% cashback has the same financial implications for your business as a 10% discount, but in the eyes of a bride, receiving a cheque after the wedding feels like it's worth more than an initial saving. Fulfilling cashback offers cements a reputation as a trustworthy wedding business, and it's the perfect time to ask for a review after the big day has taken place.

Free services

The second most popular option for brides is for businesses to provide a free service. This could be anything from a complimentary cake tasting to an engagement shoot, photo booth, DJ set between live performances, menu tasting or jewellery engraving. If there's a part of your package that you want to shout about, this is a great way to promote those elements.

Free gifts

Everyone enjoys receiving a little extra something. Even when the value of the item is small, throwing in a little extra can take a good review to a great one, or convince a wavering couple to book. Tasty extras such as bottles of champagne or boxes of chocolates are surefire crowd-pleasers, and can be applied to practically any wedding booking. Including a free voucher can also be a clever way to increase spend in the long run. For example, a bridal boutique could offer a £50 bridal accessory voucher, or a florist can include £20 towards a bouquet after the wedding.

Anniversary gifts

Speaking of gifts after the wedding, offering couples a future incentive can be useful for businesses that don't want to cut down on the value of the wedding booking itself. Venues can offer a free afternoon tea, spa treatment or overnight stay on the couple's first anniversary, or photographers can offer a discounted family shoot. Most importantly, it gives you a great excuse to keep in touch with your couples, leading to future referrals.
