BrideLux Symposium and Engage! Summit – in London for 2019
This October, London will be hosting two prestigious events over 5 incredible days. Far more than just a conference, each event is intended to fully immerse the delegates in a wedding planning experience of a lifetime. This really is a brilliant time to head into London, as it’s the first time these two events are taking place in the same city. Here’s the lowdown on each event…
From 28th to 30th October 2019, London will host the highly successful Engage! Summit for the first time, welcoming the world’s top wedding professionals for three days of high-level networking. Engage! Summits aim to connect, educate, and inspire, with internationally renowned speakers and extravagant entertainment. The 250 delegates lucky enough to secure a ticket – the event sold out within an hour and is holding a waiting list – will have a packed itinerary incorporating events at Kensington Palace and The Rosewood Hotel. Celebrity wedding planner Sarah Haywood is looking after the entertainment, so the delegates, who are almost all luxury wedding planners and event designers from America, are guaranteed to have a London experience like no other.
Delegates for Engage! will arrive in London over the weekend before the event starts and a private Facebook group will help with the networking opportunities before they arrive. To get the full Engage! experience, speakers and delegates will stay at Rosewood where the majority of activities will be based. There are limited rooms available at Rosewood from £325 + VAT per night.
Straight after Engage!, the BrideLux Symposium returns to London from 30th October to 1st November 2019, following a hugely successful sell-out first event in London last October. Hosted by the prestigious Savoy Hotel and London’s Langham Hotel, this 5* event will draw in the top wedding planners, luxury wedding suppliers and aspirational venues from across the UK and Europe. In addition to inspirational seminars from international wedding planners such as Johnny Roxburgh, delegates will receive practical tips from a range of experts including wedding marketing guru Alan Berg. The networking opportunities continue every evening, culminating in a black tie gala at The Savoy.
Most of the Symposium delegates will be from the UK and Europe and are already familiar with London. Therefore, their focus will be on elevating their wedding business and client base as well as networking with like-minded companies. The host venues are all offering special rates for delegates wanting to stay with them but as the events are spread over several 5* venues and a luxury riverboat, there isn’t an obvious hotel that will become a “base” for delegates. Last year there was an equal split of people choosing to stay in smaller hotels or flats rather than the host venues.

A ticket to Engage
! costs $5000 (approx £3,900) excluding accommodation. It includes two days of seminars and an exciting program of lavish events to showcase London as well as extravagant and personalised gifts for delegates. Who should attend
We have been to the last 3 Engage! Summits in Europe as well as speaking at and attending the inaugural London Symposium and there is good reason that we choose to invest time and budget, and good reason that delegates choose to go year after year.
For both events, at least half of all delegates are luxury wedding planners, some are 5* hotels or independently owned wedding venues keen to attract luxury weddings, others are professional wedding suppliers looking to form relationships with those venues and planners. Most have been in business for several years and are ready to elevate their customer base.
The results are quantifiable in terms of increased contacts and opportunities as well as a deeper knowledge of how to work with higher end budgets. You will become part of a luxury wedding industry network, with lasting and meaningful relationships formed during three days of social and networking activities.
The ticket price includes a significant amount of food, drink and entertainment so think of it as far more than investing in just a conference. Both events are like a three day party with people that actually speak your language – weddings! As such, if it is your own company and either of the conferences are relevant, it is easy to justify treating yourself. You will have a great time and will grow your business. If you work for someone else, you would hope that they value your contribution to their wedding business enough to see that it is an investment in you as well as benefitting their company.
Having attended London’s Symposium and Engage! Ireland back-to-back last October, we wouldn’t recommend doing both. The concept is too similar and you’d receive more benefit by attending one this year and the other the next. For either event, book your accommodation early, as prices in London always increase nearer the time.
