To celebrate National Apprenticeship Month 2018 we’ve been chatting to our lovely apprentice Hannah. We wanted to know what she loves most about her apprenticeship and how it’s really helped kick-start her career.
So, tell us a bit about your apprenticeship.
I am currently on an apprenticeship scheme run by Chichester College and Boom Training for 12 months. I’m working full time at Guides for Brides and am working towards a qualification in Level 3 Business Administration.
What does your role include?
My main job role at Guides for Brides is Sales Support. This includes setting up and updating adverts, finding new sales leads and adding new client adverts to our website to name a few. As well as sales support, I also support the marketing team managing and replying to emails which has really improved my communication skills.
Are you enjoying it so far?
Yes, I’m really enjoying the experience. I think if I had to pinpoint my favourite part so far it has to be helping the marketing team out with their social media!
What other responsibilities do you have as an apprentice?
My apprenticeship also has a coursework element which includes training days and shadowing my colleagues at Guides for Brides. I have a personal tutor who visits me every so often to go through my progress.
Are there any perks of doing an apprenticeship?
The main perk of doing an apprenticeship is that you can learn and earn money at the same time and come out with a qualification and experience. I’d recommend an apprenticeship to anyone who’s coming out of school or college – it’s a great opportunity!
