From two-piece wedding dresses and charitable favours to champagne towers and picnic wedding feasts  - 2015 is the year for creative wedding trends. At the beginning of the year there were various trends on the horizon, but which ones will shine on into Summer? Here's a handful of "think-outside-the-box" trends which are set to be huge this Summer.

1. A View from the Top

Drones are the latest trend in wedding photography and they are really taking-off. This idea is set to be huge for weddings as the weather warms up. The drone takes fantastic ariel view images - perfect for capturing the beauty of the wedding as a whole. They are also a great way to make sure no-one is missing from the photo.

2. Fancy a Taste?

Gone are the days of the classic sit down wedding meal - there's a new food trend in town. Tasting stations are a fun and inventive way to ensure that every individual taste is catered for. From the classic cheese and antipasti table to the unusual oyster tasting station there's so much scope for diversity. Don't forget that all important dessert tasting stand.

3. Looking Up

As we predicted in January, 2015 is the year of the hanging centrepiece. The days of trying to have a conversation across a table whilst your view is obscured by a huge flower arrangement are long gone. This year, brides like Frances are using modern suspension techniques to ensure their extravagant centrepieces are safely secured above the heads of their guests.

4. Late Night Nibbles

Another great wedding food trend is the idea of late night snacks. Everyone has danced the night away and there's a definite need for an energy booster. What better way to satisfy those late night cravings than to bring out a delicious tray of pizza? This is a great option if you're on a budget.

5. Who needs a dress?

The traditional wedding dress has competition. As the sun comes out, more and more people are set to brave the two-piece trend. If you're not feeling quite bold enough, there's plenty of other trends to experiment with - what about a wedding jumpsuit?

6. Fancy a Picnic?

If you are brave enough to sit on the floor gracefully in your dress, then this is certainly the trend for you. Replace tables with picnic blankets for the ultimate in outdoor wedding chic.

7. Bubbles Please

Get the bubbly flowing! Summer 2015 will see the ultimate comeback of the champagne tower. It's not a new idea but it certainly is a timeless and glamorous classic.

8. The Alternative Cake

For those who want to get creative with their wedding cake, there are so many unique trends for 2015. One particularly unusual one is the chalkboard cake like this one from Dovey Cake Design. A black cake is certainly not a trend to suit everyone but for those brave enough to try, it brings a quirky and unique twist to your big day. Chalkboard cakes enable words of your choice to be written onto your cake (professionally!), creating a personalised and unique look. To get more inspiration check out our Pinterest board.

9. Hooray for Herbs

We've seen so many floral wedding trends pass through and now it's time to make way for herbs. We're not just talking herbs in the bouquets and flower arrangements, there's plenty more uses. They can also make excellent table decorations, wedding favours and can even be used in your cake. Try tying lavender to chair legs for a heavenly scented ceremony!
