Welcome to the 90s
The 90s kids have started getting married! Where did that time go? I’ve never been to so many weddings in one year…and it’s not even over yet!
So, what better theme for a wedding than a throwback to their childhoods. From countless episodes of Friends to the Pokemon takeover, the 90s really did keep our toes tapping.
1. The Engagement
The original Pokemon was a 90s hit; none of this 2017 Pokemon Go action. It’s just handy I kept all those Pokemon cards – who’s the cool one now?
Who hasn’t watched at least one episode of Friends...we just love this invite idea.
Also, remember cassettes? That’s the pre-Spotify, pre-Ipod, pre-CD era. Tuck in one of these to your invites and start building up your playlist!
3. Table Plan
Although we may be stretching back into the 80s here, these were the height of technology (and film choices). The VHS rewind button never got so much action as it did with The Goonies. Help your guests find their seat with some throwback movies for table names.
4. The Candy Cart
The candy cart has become quite popular in 2017, so why not theme it with some of your old favourites – white mice, rainbow drops, chalky lollies…20p Freddos…those were the days!
5. The Photo-booth
Photo-booths are another great way of letting your guests have fun, so why not pick some suitable props to set the scene…
6. The Cake
Party rings. Need I say more?
Those old board games we love seem to have been reinvented for 2017! We’ve seen giant Jenga, the rodeo (aka Buckaroo) but does anyone remember Guess Who?
8. Guest Book
Actually attended a wedding recently that used this idea and it was spectacular. The polaroid camera has made a 90s comeback – finally! You can either ask your guests to stick the pics in a book, or peg them up on a line so everyone can see their fantastic selfie-action in full swing.
9. Song List
These 90s classics are the ULTIMATE party starters. If you don’t remember the moves to Tragedy, don’t panic – there’s always someone who knows!
