Throughout January, the picturesque Wasing Park in Berkshire is running a Winter Wonderland event for couples to see the venue dressed for a winter wedding. Their recommended suppliers have styled the venue beautifully to help inspire brides looking to tie the knot in Berkshire. What's more, the Wasing Park team are on hand to show you around both the venue and the guest accommodation.

There are limited appointments left, so request a brochure, get a quote or book your appointment online.

Why is Wasing Park such a popular wedding venue?

Couples often have a list of what they'd like from their venue, and matching it can sometimes be a challenge. Not so at Wasing Park!  The venue seems to have it all, all spread across three gorgeous areas; the main Castle Barn area, as well as outdoor wedding, spaces the Walled Garden and the Woodlands.

At the barn venue, for those planning a religious ceremony, there is a beautiful parish church within the grounds with space for 100 guests. For civil ceremonies there are indoor and outdoor options; the modern glass-walled Garden Room opening onto the lawns or the outdoor Victorian Summerhouse. On the other side of the Estate there is a rustic folly by the walled gardens and for humanist ceremonies, there is a shady glade in their ancient woodlands.

For the reception, most couples opt for the Castle Barn where up to 140 guests can be seated on round tables. Larger weddings will love the privacy, flexibility and convenience of a marquee reception in the walled gardens.

There is a choice of recommended suppliers who work regularly with the venue, but you are free to choose whichever suppliers you like. The only exception is for catering, as Galloping Gourmet are the exclusive supplier for Wasing Park. However, this should be no hardship for couples, they have a great choice of traditional menu options for the wedding breakfast - fillet of beef being the favourite - and some creative catering ideas including mobile food stations and a pizza oven for the evening reception.

Looking after your guests

Guest accommodation is an important consideration for most couples, and Wasing has been incredibly creative in their choice of suites and bedrooms. The honeymoon suite is vast, with a 3-metre wide bed and an over-sized bathroom that's ideal for newlyweds.

Don't worry about your guests feeling left out - the guest accommodation is just as sumptuous! Our favourite was the Smithy, a pretty cottage made up of a large bedroom with a huge bed and deep sofas, and a bathroom with a shower and double-ended free-standing bathtub.

The old Granary has two small beds and a bathroom downstairs, all perched on traditional staddle stones. Upstairs, the spiral staircase leads to a double bedroom under a round roof light where doves would have roosted.

There is also more traditional accommodation in The Coach House, Pump House, Stables Lodge and The Mews. These are all so different that Wasing Park opens up all the bedrooms twice yearly for couples to explore. There's a lounge, bar and breakfast room in the Stables Lodge for guests to enjoy during their stay.

For weddings in the Walled Garden, there is a small Keeper's Cottage, 6 additional double bedrooms in Home Farmhouse and 3 in Kitts Cottage. You can even choose the camping or glamping option for a festival-style wedding.
