Deck the halls - If you love a bit of DIY then why not have some fun making homemade Christmas decorations. Once you've put your Christmas tree up, spend some time making some wooden snowflakes for the tree! Pinterest is a great way to gather inspiration.

Snuggle up and watch a movie - The ultimate way to kick start the festivities! With so many to choose from, don't miss the classics - The Grinch, Elf and It's a Wonderful Life. Love Actually is also a must.

Light your fire! The smell of mulled wine, the taste of mince pies and the warmth of a log fire is a great way to induce some festive romance. If you're struggling for time around the busy Christmas period then this is an easy one to cross off the list as you can do it any night of the week!

Hit the shops - Your fiancé may hate shopping (most men do!), but try and persuade them. Soak up the festive atmosphere, stopping off for a warming hot chocolate or bite to eat in a Christmas market. German markets are quite popular in the UK at Christmas offering lots of unique gifts and tasty doughnuts!

Magic under the mistletoe - Every household should have some mistletoe at Christmas, and of course, this is the perfect place for a Christmas kiss. Get some mistletoe from your local supermarket and pin it in a doorway.
