Are you planning the perfect hen party for your bride-to-be? Want to rival the excitement of Meghan Markle's big bash? Perhaps you want to give your girls some inspiration for your send off? Whether your happy to leave your girls with complete control or would rather organise most of the do yourself, we've found some of the greatest hen party ideas to get you inspired.

Royal Wedding Weekend

We can only begin with a Royal Wedding Weekend! May is prime time for hen parties (some of us in the office have three to attend in the space of two weeks!), so if you've planned your hen do for the 19th May, why not have a royal party to boot? The wedding starts at 1pm, so you could doll yourselves up and arrange a suitably posh afternoon tea where you can watch the wedding of Harry and Meghan in complete style, or start the celebrations early and arrange a home-made cocktail party. Some of the best parties start at home! Take a look at some of our favourite cocktail recipes from Happy Brides here, Sex and the City style.

Sun, Sea and Sand

It's becoming more and more popular to turn that one night hen party into a full blown exotic getaway. From weekend breaks in Dublin to 5 day excursions to sunny Benidorm, there is NO limit to what you can do (only your budget). Malaga is a particular favourite, with the boozy strip on hand for party-goers and some seriously gorgeous (and reasonably priced) all inclusive adult only hotels right on the beach front. The perfect escape for you and your girls.

Sail Away

Not a fan of flying? Don't have the time to take a week away? Why not hire out a boat for the evening - great for a bit of privacy and some companies even let you learn how to sail the boat. Hurst Point Yacht Charters Ltd specialise in hen and stag weekends and even stop off in marinas for you to go and explore the bars with the crew - we do love a sailor!

Woodland Escape

Ladies love Center Parcs! Whether you're happy to fork out for a chalet where all the restaurants, shops and water parks are at your fingertips, or you're happy to hire out a more budget friendly cabin in the woods, it's the perfect chance to chill out with your favourite babes. Get in the face masks, order that pizza and crack out the risky hen games - it's time to laugh the weekend away.

Adrenaline Junkies

If sitting around and lazing your days away in a spa is not your thing, why not plan an action-packed weekend of laughs. Go Ape is ideal for a bit of a challenge, or a bit of gorge-walking if you don't mind the cold. We recently tried out The Welsh Games on a hen weekend in Cardiff; a series of crazy games (mostly inflatable) that got us working together and completely exhausted, plus it's got something for everyone (including a bride dunking at the end...shhh).

If you're feeling brave you could even hire a recording studio to sing your hearts out with your hens. Singing isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it's such a fun and care free trip that it's the perfect chance to release your inhibitions and just go for it. You could either head to a studio or hire out one to come to you - SongShack is a great one (plus they do video packages for you to treasure and laugh at forever!)
