Meghan Markle's wedding dress; what she wore and how to get the look

It was the moment we've all been waiting for, and the reveal of Meghan Markle's wedding dress has to be one of our highlights from the Royal Wedding on Saturday 19th May.

Meghan opted for a demure design from French fashion house Givenchy - her bateau neck, modified A-line gown in matte organza was designed by Clare Waight Keller, a British designer and the first female artistic director of Givenchy. The dress itself was minimal in design, with an elegant boat neckline to show the collarbones, a sculpted waist, and three-quarter length sleeves. We weren't surprised to see that the new Duchess of Sussex had covered her shoulders, as the formality of the church wedding requires it, but we love how elegant the high neck and mid-length sleeves looked with no embellishment, crystals or lace.

Of course, the simplicity of the dress allowed those incredible accessories to shine through! The royal-length silk tulle veil made a real statement against the shorter train of the gown, and we love that the delicate floral embroidery featured flowers from every country in the commonwealth. The embroidered detail, scallop lace edging and shorter blusher layer stood out beautifully against the simple backdrop of the gown, and the 5m train was certainly worthy of the cathedral venue!

Speaking of amazing accessories, Meghan's tiara was a real show-stopper - and also acted as her 'something borrowed', as it was lent to her by her new grandmother-in-law, Her Majesty The Queen. The diamond and platinum tiara was originally made for Queen Mary in 1932, to incorporate the stunning central brooch, which dates back to 1893. Meghan echoed the diamonds in the tiara with stud diamond earrings by Cartier and a chic tennis bracelet to make the most of those three-quarter length sleeves.

For the evening reception, Meghan changed into a stunning bespoke Stella McCartney style in silk crepe, with a high halterneck to show off her shoulders and beautiful drop earrings. For a modern 'something blue', the newlywed wore a pair of Aquazzura heels with a baby blue sole, and an emerald-cut aquamarine cocktail ring that once belonged to Princess Diana.

The Tiara

Ivory & Co are always one of our top choices when it comes to royal-inspired tiaras, and we think this Princess Mia style captures the Art Deco vibe of Meghan's tiara perfectly.

The Veil

Although we wouldn't recommend a full 5m train unless you're really looking to make a statement, this embroidered cathedral-length style from Rainbow Club should be all the impact you need!

The Jewellery

We have it on good authority that the new Duchess of Sussex wore Cartier earrings and bracelet for the big day - we think these Swarovski numbers are just as elegant.
