After taking the World by storm with her new occasion wear collection, we’ve been chatting to the one and only Sassi Holford. We want to find out how MOTB’s or MOTG’s can avoid those easy fashion pitfalls and top tips on how to be stylish but comfortable.

Colour

It’s important you go for a colour that you know suits you and that you enjoy wearing. There is nothing worse than experimenting with a bold colour you’re not sure about on such an important day. It’s easy to get carried away with shopping for your outfit alone but make sure you consider what colours the bridesmaids and flower girls are wearing and consult with the bride so you compliment the bridal party themes.

Hat, Fascinator or nothing?

Whatever you choose, find something that suits your frame – don’t drown a petite frame with a big hat! The trick is to keep it simple with your headwear so it doesn’t overshadow your outfit or make you stick out like a sore thumb. You don’t want to look back on pictures and think, what did I have on my head? The great thing about hats is there is no rule to say you must wear one.

Outfit

Fit is such an important aspect of dressing as we get older; your outfit should flatter your shape and be comfortable enough for you to wear all day. Make sure you have a beautiful fit, even if this means getting alterations from a local seamstress or even opting for a bespoke, made-to-measure outfit. Comfort is important as it will show on your face.

Styles

Embrace your own style and personality, but consider dressing age appropriate. It’s great to follow and dress on trend as it can be very exciting but you don’t want to look back on the pictures with regret!
