A glass of bubbly in hand, a goodie bag filled with wedding favours and chats with plenty of wonderful wedding suppliers whilst looking at some amazing wedding dresses. Made our first day at The National Wedding Show great and we wanted to share with you the best bits from our first day.

The Catwalk Show

The catwalk show was no doubt the main event and this did not disappoint. Endless beautiful wedding gowns, menswear and bridesmaids outfits from suppliers such as David’s Bridal, Ted Bakers range Wed with Ted, Katya and Katya, Ivory & Co, Rainbow Club, Debenhams Bridal Range, Youngs Hire, Ben Sherman Men’s, Marc Darcy, Slaters and Berketex.

Trends for 2018

Shropshire Petals

Shropshire petals did a wonderful talk on Autumn 2018 colour trends and gave some fabulous ideas on how you can add a splash of colour to your big day through your confetti. They discussed all the beautiful Pantone colours that Autumn Brides will be using this year and these were few of our favourites:

Red Pear - 19-1536

A deliciously deep red for only the bravest of brides. This colour can look so romantic, especially by candlelight on a gorgeous autumn evening, partially in a barn. This colour is also beautiful on fair skinned bridesmaids!

Quetzal green - 18-5025

A lovely rich, dark green which is very popular after being one of Pantone’s colour of the year last year, as well as it being extremely elegant. Why not recycle some old green glass beer bottles and have them as centrepieces with fairy lights in as a quirky, but effective feature.

Russet orange - 16-1255

As more and more people are getting married in September, oranges are becoming increasingly popular. This is a gorgeous colour to have in small doses and in flashes for example table napkins or for men pocket squares. A lot of this colour isn't needed but a little goes a long way and can look stunning.

Quirky extras

There were loads of wonderful exhibitors but there were a few which really caught our eye.

Etched wedding drinks

One of our favourites from the day was etched wedding drinks, personalised bottles and drinks perfect as favours, reception drinks and even a cool idea for stag and hen do’s!

The Ice Cream Cab

Converted London cabs that sell every ice cream flavour under the sun, dream! The ice cream club are an eco-friendly option and even do vegan ice cream, catering to all your guest needs.

Poptails

These gourmet, alcoholic cocktail ice pops that are to die for! A really good alternative to cocktails and ideal for a summer wedding. Flavour vary from gin mojito, rum and limoncello.

We had such a great weekend! If you missed out, don't panic! The National Wedding Show will be coming to a town near you very soon - check out their next dates and locations here.
