Weddings are all about personality. They’re about two people, their vision, dreams, ideas and what makes them tick. The personality of the couple should impact upon every element of the day; from the venue choice and the dress, right through to the colour scheme and the food.
Some people want formal, fine-dining: some people couldn’t think of anything worse. There’s no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to wedding food.During the last few years we’ve seen a huge rise in the popularity of ‘family style’ meals. This is a formal set up with guests sitting at tables, but has an informal twist in that one guest from each table acts as the ‘chef’ and carves a whole roast joint for the rest of the table. It works really well for weddings as the set up gets people chatting, and means people can have a small or large portion – great when you’ve got your granny and your rugby player friend on the same table!
We’ve also seen a rise in interest in afternoon teas with a number of people asking us to provide mis-match vintage china which really gives the tables a great style. Floral cake stands piled up withfinger sandwiches, cream and jam scones, homemade cakes and cocktail sweets make for stunning table centres!
