Okay, we don’t mean it! The fairytale white wedding will NEVER go out of style, because - let’s be honest - who doesn’t want to feel like a princess on their big day?! No princess is complete, however, without some help from her fluffy friends: Snow White was dressed by her bluebirds, Cinderella’s mice took her to the ball. It’s safe to say they would defo have been fans of one of this summer’s biggest trends, the eco-friendly wedding! We’ve got some top tips on easy ways to say ‘I do’ to loving the environment…

Seed Paper Invitations

So simple yet so sweet! Make your invitation last even after the wedding itself by opting for seed-infused paper - by encouraging guests to plant their invite, they and their gardens can enjoy beautiful flowers even when they return home from the celebration! Alternatively, consider swapping traditional confetti for biodegradable dried lavender, which has the added perk of a gorgeous, subtle scent.

Recycled Glasses

We’re SO glad the gorgeous rustic trend shows no sign of disappearing, and these adorable glasses are a perfect example of how you can combine it with being super eco-friendly! Re-using old Mason jars can save you money on fancy glassware, as well as helping you save the environment by keeping them out of landfill. Did we also mention how photogenic they are?! Oh just think of the Instagram posts… #LOVE

Think Local

Who doesn’t have idyllic childhood memories of daisy chain creations? Good news, you never have to grow out of garden flowers! One of the best things about British summer weddings is the availability of gorgeous local foliage: before you ship floral decorations from around the world, considered sourcing from the surrounding area. The same goes for catering - talk to local suppliers and take advantage of seasonal fruits and veggies to make your menu yummy, fresh and eco-friendly.

Balloon Swaps

Let’s be honest, balloons are great for children’s parties, but we agree that weddings call for something a little more sophisticated! Hung paper lanterns are both re-usable and double as magical outdoor lighting for those warm summer evenings. Alternatively, get guests involved and release biodegradable Chinese lanterns, romantically lighting up the sky (so much more relaxing than the sound of popping balloons…)

Dress Decisions

Conscious does NOT mean compromise! When choosing your dress, you can look fabulous while still being eco-friendly! With vintage style one of THE biggest trends in celebrity weddings, opting for a vintage dress lets you not only channel Kate Moss (which, btw, is always a good idea) but also do your bit for the environment. If you’re considering different designers, look out for organically sourced fabrics and ethical manufacturing, such as hand-made creations or support for women working in developing countries.
