Discover your Perfect Hen Party

For many, the classic hen night bar crawl has lost its charm and an increasing number of brides-to-be are seeking a more civilised, but by no means boring alternative. Whether you are a thrill seeker, shopaholic, creative genius or sun seeker - there is a perfect hen party for you. Communicating your ideas to your chief hen will not only help her, but may just save you from light-up headgear and an unwelcome visit from a gyrating stripper.

Do Something Daring - Whether it's tackling an assault course, go-karting, Zorbing, Lazer Quest,  skydiving or paint-balling - physical activities are a great way to get the adrenalin racing. A little bit of competition is also a great ice breaker if you have lots of hens meeting for the first time.

Get Creative - Classes and workshops are becoming increasingly popular for hen parties. A large number of companies offer packages specifically for hen parties, often with champagne and nibbles included. Possible activities could include biscuit icing, chocolate making, jewellery making, pottery painting, cheerleading or perfume making.

Sleep out of your Comfort Zone - Who says you have to stick to a hotel for your accommodation? Alternative lodging is bound to make your hen weekend more adventurous and memorable. There is plenty of fun to be had in retro campervans, narrow boats, teepees and yurts. However, if you like your home comforts, then why not opt for a serviced apartment instead of a hotel - this way, you will be able to relax with your hens with more freedom and flexibility.

Do something Indulgent - For a relaxing hen weekend, pamper yourselves with a spa break, one of the most popular alternatives to a classic hen party. Another option would be to treat yourself and friends to a makeover and photoshoot, with vintage or boudoir themes to choose from.

Do something Foodie -Why not try a culinary workshop that will teach you how to make macaroons, sushi or cocktails? There are plenty of foodie hen party ideas - whether it be a paid experience, or a homemade afternoon tea party!

Animal Bonding - If you love animals then it is a must to incorporate them in your hen party. From horse riding and lamb feeding to zoo keeper experiences and petting activities - there is lots of fun to be had. Galloping Girls has just been launched by The London Riding Club as a hen party activity - they offer a scenic leisure ride in either Hyde Park, Wimbledon Common or Windsor Great Park, followed by a champagne afternoon tea at an exclusive hotel. Sounds perfect!

Go Abroad - Many brides-to-be are ditching the UK hen party for a mini holiday abroad. Popular destinations include Marbella, Ibiza and Benidorm. As well as sun, sea and cocktails - they all offer a range of activities aimed at hen parties. If you are looking for an extravagant and extended hen party then going away is a fantastic choice.
