Are you a bridesmaid planning your best friend's all-important hen weekend? Trying to edge away from the "pink satin sash" style party? Hen weekends no longer have to be tacky or predictable - there are so many fun-filled, unique activities to give the bride an unforgettable last night of freedom! HenParties.com have shared 5 unique ideas for those who are looking to do something that little different.

#1) Cocktail Making

Raise your hand if you love cocktails? Everyone! This exciting activity is the best way to liven up your hens, break the ice and get the party started. You will be shown how to create some of the most famous cocktail creations, from the martini to the classic mojito and will then be let loose to experiment for yourself.

Top tip: This activity is best for larger groups who may not all know one another because it gives everyone the opportunity to advise on their favourite alcoholic beverages and reveal shocking stories from past nights out.

#2) Spa & Pamper

Is there anything us girls love more than a good pampering session? We don’t think there is! It’s especially important for the bride-to-be to feel refreshed, relaxed and ready for her big day. If you’ve never experienced the pure indulgence of a spa package, you are in for a treat. There are various treatments on offer to suit your particular needs so be sure to speak to your therapist before booking an appointment.

Top Tip: There are health spas worldwide so the sky’s the limit. Whether you want to stay closer to home or away, you are sure to find a place that you can enjoy while taking in some totally chic surroundings.

#3) Zorbing

So, this may not appear the most traditional of hen do activities but it will certainly set your pulse racing as you hurtle down a hill at rocket speeds. Zorbing is definitely an example of a hen do that breaks down all the barriers of a conventional activity and is something you will be talking about for years to come.

Top Tip: Make sure you discuss this activity with your friends prior to booking, as some may love the idea of trying something more adventurous whereas others may be a little reserved.

#4) Whitewater Rafting

This may sound terrifying, and you would be correct! Whitewater rafting is reserved for your fearless friends who are looking to be swept away with an experience like no other. We are sure there will be a few shrieks, shivers and surprises along the way but that’s all part of the fun.

Top Tip: Not for the faint-hearted, this activity is perfect if you are looking for something a little less cocktail dresses and cosmos, and more wonderfully wild!

#5) Pole Dancing Classes

Aside from being a fitness fad, pole dancing is an exhilarating and enjoyable activity for hens. There are sure to be lots of laughs and some memorable photos to look back on; two great components of a successful hen do right there.

Top Tip: Make it even more interesting by dressing up for your class.
