La La Land has shown us that modern musicals can be vibrant, colourful and ever so slightly nostalgic. Taking plenty of cues from big old school Hollywood musicals like Singing in the Rain, we couldn't help but think that come rain or shine, La La Land would make a fabulous wedding theme - with all the romance you could possibly wish for on your own big day!

Taking your wedding guests on a journey with your day comes down to making it memorable. That feeling when you've finished watching a fantastic musical? It stays with you. If you're looking to add instant movie worthy lift to your wedding, look no further than these simple steps...

Toe-tapping

Think big numbers and show tunes: Make the soundtrack to your wedding one to remember! La La Land made us fall in love with piano-playing Ryan Gosling and his taste in jazz - go for the greats on your wedding day or hire a band to make the most of your venue!

Big on Romance

Musicals mean grand, romantic gestures - You can't really top your wedding day, but, you can take the opportunity to make the most of your favourite quotes and sayings. A great place to start is straight from the big screen! Typography is amazing these days, so it's easy enough to have a sparkling cake topper or table decorations which use words!

Light it Up

Big, bold, Hollywood sign style lettering will make a big talking point at your wedding! Light boxes and signs make great photo opportunities, brand your wedding and are a fantastic way brighten up your venue. More to the point, they get your name up in lights - just like the stars!

Aesthetic Touches

Set dressing can seriously set the mood of a movie. The same goes for weddings - uplift your guests with nostalgic pieces, quirky colour mixing and personal touches. This can be anything which reminds you of each other and your romance, share with your guests and bring them along on your journey together! Things don't have to match for them to work, if they go well together, add them to your day!

Wedding Brights

Shine up your shoes and be afraid to have a day in full technicolour! Grooms can go for suits in bold primaries which will look trendy and sharp - perfect leading man material! As for brides, we love how brightly coloured petticoats look underneath a traditional white dress, or how shoes can add an instant pop of colour!

The idea is to have the most fun possible with and on your day - the smiles will be infectious!
