Le Talbooth Restaurant is an idyllic situation on the banks of the River Stour in the heart of 'Constable Country'. Le Talbooth features John Constable's famous painting of the Dedham Vale (now in the National Gallery in Edinburgh). The restaurant was founded by Gerald Milsom over 50 years ago and it is still run by him and his son Paul. The sixteenth century timber framed building was once a toll booth for horse-drawn traffic - hence its name.
Services provided by Le Talbooth
Your reception can either be held in the restaurant in the River Room Restaurant or the Weavers Room, during the summer months (May to September) we have a marquee in the garden. During the winter of 2003/4 the gardens were completely redesigned and with the river running beside them we have a truly unique setting.
We can accommodate up to 80 in the River Room, 32 in the Weavers Room and 160+ in the marquee. With over 50 years experience you can be assured of a truly memorable Wedding Day at Le Talbooth.
