Welcome to the Cotswold Ensemble String Quartet

We are a group of friends who are professional musicians, and we delight in playing as a quartet.

We have played in scores of wonderful places since the ensemble was started by Carol Filleul in 1988. During that time we have brought music to people's special occasions and know from experience that having a live quartet can make all the difference, and we have been told this many times.

Services provided by The Cotswold Ensemble

We play most often as a string quartet, (two violins, one viola, one cello), because this group has the widest and best range of repertoire.

We also have other classically-trained musicians (solo guitarist, guitarist and harpist, two flautists and a cellist, singers, pianist…) to play at events that have more particular needs.
