First Dance

First DanceThat all important First Dance record.... but what song do you choose?  Most couples tend to pick a song which means something to them; maybe it was the song being played the first time you met, or maybe a song which you have later enjoyed together.  A recent survey by 1,300 UK Disc Jockeys has revealed the latest top 10 of First Dance records played at weddings.  These are:

  1. Don't Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith
  2. Everything I Do (I Do It For You) by Bryan Adams
  3. Amazed by Lonestar
  4. You're Still The One by Shania Twain
  5. From This Moment by Shania Twain
  6. Have I Told You Lately by Van Morrison
  7. You're Beautiful by James Blunt
  8. Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden
  9. Angels by Robbie Williams
  10. I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston
Surprisingly every record in the top 10, with the exception of James Blunt's "You're Beautiful", is at least 8 years old.  If it remains there, only time will tell.  However, classics like "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" and "Everything I Do (I Do It For You), remain all time favourites and have been in in the top 10 forever!  But if none of the above songs appeal to you, take a look at  the next page (more First Dance records)  for some alternatives.

Don't forget to check with your DJ before your wedding that they have your chosen song.  I remember going to a wedding where the couple assumed the DJ would have their First Dance song, only to discover he didn't!  Fortunately the groom had his car at the reception and had the required CD in his glove box!

Brides and Grooms DancingSome couples, or to be more specific most grooms, dread the "First Dance".  However, help is at hand.  First Dance UK offer to choreograph a dance routine to suit you, and best of all they can teach you in the comfort (and privacy) of  your own home.
