Simple Pleasures
Claire and John created a laid-back, welcoming vibe for their 'at home' wedding, with plenty to do for everyone.
Despite the unpredictable British summer weather, Claire and John look back on their wedding day with more than a degree of delight. Keeping it simple proved a winning policy, with the couple marrying in Winchester registry office and then everyone heading back to their garden for a DIY barbecue, mobile bar and games around the garden well! Claire explains: ‘We had boule, croquet, mini-archery, mini-cricket, chess and giant bubbles available all afternoon to entertain – also musicians from the wedding party (including the groom and best man) played an impromptu folk set!’
Straw bales doubled as seating, and home-made hanging leaf hearts decorated the marquees.
In the evening, the guests headed over to the local pub, the picturesque ‘Globe on the Lake’, to be entertained by the Huckleberries, – a five piece bluegrass world folk band. They were, says Claire ‘the highlight of the wedding!’
