ACTION AIDIf you have enough toasters and kettles to last a lifetime then why not help the world’s poorest people by asking for donations to ActionAid? Your support will help provide children and their families with clean water, shelter, health care, education and food security for life.
You can set up your own personalised wedding web page on our brand new community website www.myactionaid.org.uk where you can post photo albums and blogs and accept online donations. We will send you a wedding pack with our alternative wedding list and wedding cards to send to friends and family. We’ll also send you a certificate with the total amount raised and a personal message to read out on the day.

Looking for a charity gift list with a great mix of charities for your guests to choose from?
The Alternative Wedding List is a simple to use online wedding list service where couples sign-up to a list that contains gifts of donations to your selected group of charities – you don’t have to pick just one.
Donations are wrapped up like gifts so you can see what a particular donation could fund for each charity and a gift list is made up of donations to a variety of charities. Charities participating in the service include Barnardo’s, British Heart Foundation, Breast Cancer Care, FARM-Africa, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Samaritans, Save the Children and many others – the variety of charities provide a wide choice for both couples and guests. Couples select a group of charities; guests select a donation to the charity of their choice. You can even make up your own group of charities.
Everything’s been kept simple and online and it’s easy for couples to check up on donations made and messages left by your guests. There are no charges for couples, no minimum total expected and there are no hidden costs for guests – every penny they spend goes to the charities and all the costs of the service are covered by the Gift Aid reclaimed on donations made.
You can use it as your only wedding list or, as many couples do, use it alongside a traditional list and send the details to as few, or as many, of your guests as you feel appropriate – it’s your day so do it your way.

Here's how it works
1 Create and log in to your personal account
2 When you select your first gift and click "Add to wish list", you'll be taken to a page where you can name your wish list
3 Continue to choose gifts by browsing and clicking on the "Add to wish list" button for the gifts you want
4 When you're ready to email your list to friends and family, go to your wish list through "My Account" and click on "Email wish list"
5 Then enjoy all the funusual gifts you receive!
