What happens at a Wedding Fair?

Whether you are a bride wondering if you should attend a local Wedding Fair, or an exhibitor wondering what is involved in exhibiting, below we take a peek inside a typical Fair - the one featured was at Milton Hill House in Oxfordshire in May 2011.

When do Wedding Fairs take place?

As wedding businesses are so busy during the summer months and on Saturdays all year, Wedding Fairs generally take place on Sundays and Bank Holidays from the end of August until the end of May.

Most venues choose the same weekend for their Fair every year, and some have two Fairs during the year.

Do you have to book?

Exhibitors need to book their space, often many months in advance.

Visitors can just turn up, although at the big National Shows there is a charge which is reduced if you book online.

Fairs are always at the busiest over lunch time; so aim to arrive as soon as it opens.

Visitors will usually be asked to register their details; this is to enable exhibitors to contact you and saves you from having to fill in your details again for each of the exhibitors.
