Overview

Thailand has had some bad press recently. Having just recovered from the Tsunami, various anti-government clashes have discouraged many travellers from visiting this country.
In our opinion this makes it the ideal time to visit, with prices throughout the country at their most competitive, and the number of tourists at its lowest. We visited during the recent period of un-rest and found that there was very little impact on tourists.
From the mountains in the north to the beaches in the south, there is no place in Asia that can offer such a diverse blend of top-notch experiences. Futhermore, the Thais are renowed for their graciousness and charm that makes every visitors feel at home.
When to go

Our recommended Itinerary
We would recommend that with any trip to Thailand you should spend a few nights in Bangkok and experience the hussle and bustle of this fascinating city, combining it with one of the following:
Beaches and Spa hotels of Phuket. The classic honeymoon, featuring luxury hotels, golden palm-fringed beaches and fabulous restaurants.
Elephants and Adventure in Northern Thailand. For couples looking for an action packed trip combining comfortable hotels with eco-lodges and fun activities.
Temples and Mountains in Laos. Experience the nanural beauty and culture of Asia's least developed country.
How to get there

We flew out with British Airways, and back with Qantus. Both offer Premium Economy for roughly double the cost of an economy ticket . Qantus's Premium Economy is of a particularly high standard; comparable with the old style business class and well worth considering to make the trip extra special.
Flight time is 11 - 12 hours, and we would advise opting for a late evening departure.
Most of the larger airline companies fly to Thailand from various locations around the UK.
