dresses to wear to a wedding
27 June, 2012 07:58AM
Vintage is all the rage in fashion now, and for good reason. Before the days of mass production, bridal gowns were lovingly hand-sewn by relatives, such as mothers or grandmothers, using the best materials money could buy. Such gowns were generally intricate in design and would take months to complete, usually waiting on materials from abroad - such as silk or seed pearls from China or lace from Brussels.

Even so-called 'ready-made' clothes were usually handmade by an army of professional seamstresses. Considering the work, love, and expense involved in such dresses, many brides chose to hang on to them in the hopes of some day passing them on to their children and grandchildren. Check your local vintage shops or estate sales for such treasures, or dig through your own mother's attic. With a little freshening up and professional alteration to your specifications, you'll have a one-of-a-kind dress that you'll be happy keep for future generations, perhaps starting a new tradition.
As times passed, women's fashions changed. Hems rose and fell, but the long Knee Length Bridesmaid Dresses, with or without a train, remained the length preferred by brides. Sleeve lengths and neck styles changed with the current fashions, but mainly remained modest. Full sleeves, tight sleeves, sleeveless styles came and went and came again. Simple designs to elaborate have been found over the years.

What makes all brides beautiful is the fact that she is marrying the love of her life. But what makes her individually stunning is the details which showcase her personality as a bride. When you walk down the aisle, you want a gown which highlights a bit of your personality while making you look spectacular at the same time.

The biggest day of your life is over but the memories will last a lifetime. Your Lace Bridesmaid Dresses was worn with such beauty and grace and now it's time to put it away. Many brides contemplate whether they should preserve their dress, give it away, save it for their daughter or sell it in the want ads. Every girl dreams of her wedding dress and what she will look like in her dress. Once the wedding is over you don't even want to take off your dress at the end of the night. Feeling like a princess for the day is one you will never forget.

Originating in the 16th century choosing to get married in white was something that was started by Queen Victoria. She opted to wear white on her special day rather than the royal traditional colour of silver as there was some lace that was given to her that she wanted to be incorporated into her wedding gown. Before the craze for white, and paler shades like ivory and cream, brides years ago just chose their best Organza Bridesmaid Dresses. The colour being a personal preference to the individual. There was also the belief that by wearing white it would ward off witches and evil spirits and was a reflection of purity and joy. Unless you are of an Irish origin the colour green is considered to be unlucky. In the past a green gown was believed to imply promiscuity.

AUTHENTICITY AND PURCHASING ON THE INTERNET
Please be aware that purchasing wedding gowns on the Internet through a non-authorized Pronovias,San Patrick, White One, Maggie Sottero, Alfred Angelo, Morie Lee, Verise Bridal and other well known designers IS NOT recommended by the designers. By doing so, you will be receiving
a counterfeit gown of much lesser quality that looks nothing like their original sample. Please do not let this happen to you!
While we understand that in today's difficult economic times, finding the "best deal" is important, we also know that compromising quality and service to save a few pounds can result in a dress disaster. Authentic designer gowns are all constructed from quality fabrics and materials and should therefore have consistent pricing across all of their authorized retailers. Finding website offering one of the designer gowns at a substantially lower price than authorized shops, can likely result in receiving a counterfeit gown of much lesser quality.;

Well know designers are committed to meeting and exceeding your expectations.They pride themselves in their commitment to provide their brides with excellent quality gowns for they special day. For this reason, they strongly encourage you to visit one of their local authorized retailers to ensure that a trained bridal consultant treats you with the care and knowledgeable service you deserve!
Help us spread the word! We encourage you to share this information with all of your "bride-to-be" friends and report sites that are selling counterfeit gowns to our facebook page.
