Majorca/Mallorca Wedding

Hi

Has anyone gotten married in Majorca.
My partner and I are hoping to get married there in September 2011 and are currently trying to find a venue.
We are going to see the yacht club in Cala D'Or on Sept of this year - it has come recommended but i would like a few options if possible
Any help anyone could give would be really good

Maybe try the Spanish tourist board if there is such a thing?

I photographed a wedding in Deia at the La Residencia Hotel, Son Canals s/n, 971 639011 in 2007. The church in the village is stunning and the hotel is amazing. I found a website for Deia which may be of interest. From a photographers viewpoint its a stunning location.

I might be completely wrong, but did Richard Branson get married at Deia?
I went there on holiday just for 2 nights and it is incredible. Everything you would want for a wedding.

We got married in Majorca last July. It was a lot to organise but completely worth it. We had 120 guests so needed a large location. After lots of searching, we found the most amazing open air church in Son Severa, a small Spanish village on the East of the island. We then coached all the guests to a beautiful Spanish restaurant nearby.

My sister got married at the Yacht Club Cala d'Or in May last year. We had the best day ever! There were just over 100 of us and most of stayed at the Sa Marina Hotel which is about 15 mins walk away. The wedding was amazing and the staff there are brilliant. I know I am biased as its my sister but its the best wedding I've ever been to.

kat - i have just read that you got married at the open air church in son severa. my finacee and i have seen this place but have no idea how to go about arranging a wedding there. any tips or advice on how you secured the venue would be very much appreciated

depending on what your budget is, Can Simoneta is the most beautiful venue you could image as my partner and i stayed there looking for a wedding venue. Unfort we had to hire the entire hotel exlusively for two nights so it was a bit ££ but def worth a look or at least a holiday. if you want ideas look on the mrandmrssmith website under weddings and there are quite a few venues in Mallorca that you can have a wedding at, quite pricey again but thats where we ended up finding our dream location. I'm getting wed there in Sept next year and I've been advised to use celebration cakes mallorca. The cakes look very good, but depending on what you want they can be on the pricey side. All in all, definitely worth a look at though!

Hi does anybody know of any cheap cake makers in mallorca for a wedding vows renewal in oct this year(2012) we cant seem to find any apart from one(celebrations) and that looks quite pricey!! Even a name of the local baker would do,for the cala d'or area.

What about taking out a rich celebration cake from Marks and Spencers so you have the english traditional cake, and then decorate it with some fabulous Mallorcan flowers, or even shells from the beach?

They are not that heavy and you could probably take it in the hand luggage, with the advantage that if you check in with a wedding cake in your hands you might get upgraded.

Worth a try!

I got married last August in the Pollensa Golf club. However saw lots of locations so can probally help with more if you need a venue.
The golf club we chosse as its great family venue that is very reasonable, has great views, fantastic food and very chilled and not too commercial when it comes to weddings (In a good way!). We found allot of venues to be very set up for weddings but everything came with a wedding planner, price tag and rules!

Although it wasnt easy in terms of resorcing and planning.
Getting married in Mallorca it is the best experience which both my husband and I as well as our guests will never forget. It was also a good excuse to have a few holidays to plan!!

I would love to share and help any of you if anyone needs any contacts..florist, band, cake etc have lots of addresses and contacts if you would prefer to go without a wedding planner. I might not be on here all the time but happy to answer on my email...

We had a cake stand in perspex which we took over and actually looking at selling for a reasonable price if you go down that route. We used it and had a stack of ensaimadas(local pastry if you havent had one)kind of a different take on the cupcake. it was nice as it was local pastry shop and everyone had their own little pastry.

For churches there is a lovely little church in Victoria north of the island near alcudia.

I had a great english florist called Pam english lady that lives in Pollensa. she works from home so if you need her number happy to pass it on.
