Although I have been to Xmas parties and other events there and couldn't complain. The walled garden was nice and you used to be able to get married on a boat....although that might have changed now!<br /><br />If you wanted a more DIY style venue, try Lains Barn [<a href="http://www.guidesforbrides.co.uk/venues-receptions/oxfordshire/lains-barn/index-_55665.html" rel="nofollow" >www.guidesforbrides.co.uk</a>] they used to offer outside catering.<br /><br />What sort of venue are you looking for Tilly?<br /><br />:o)]]></description>

The food is good - but not sure if you can use outside caterers or not - prob not!! - worth a thought though.<br />It's a good venue for the whole packadge as you can have ceremony, reception, party and guests can stay there.<br /><br />We want a venue with more DIY attitude only because we are thinking of hog roast and evening ceremony and party and I have a freind who can do the food!!<br /><br />Thats all ive got for now]]></description>

Ive been to a few weddings there in the past and it's come up on our list for possible venues - would appreciate anyones ideas or knowledge about the venue and staff etc<br /><br />We are going to call and book a show round to get more of a feel for the place but im stuck on ideas so anyones thoughts would be great.....thanks!!!]]></description>

I have found it to be a very nice part of the day<br />but def think having sufficient canapés or snacks are needed<br />if drinks are 1 1/2 -2hrs plus . . We went to a wedding where it started<br />at 12 - 1 church ceromony and we did not have any canapes .. dinner was not until 5 and we were<br />starving!!! Other weddings kept drinks and canapés for 2hrs and it was fun!<br /><br />X]]></description>

I think the other two are both further out of our price range.<br /><br />MrsMiller2b I like the idea of having family and friends do some things and I want to do quite a bit myself in terms of the table decs and favors and also the other decoration for the barn.<br /><br />We are trying to decide on our band, found a really good one that we like but they are pretty expensive so still looking around.<br /><br />Hope everyone's plans are coming along nicely.<br /><br />x]]></description>

Your guests will really remember the evening, and a good band is so much better at getting people on their feet and dancing.<br /><br />I always find the break between sets is much needed for guests to have a break from dancing, and the fact that a lot of people leave the dance floor when it swaps from live music to DJ shows how popular the live sets are.]]></description>

We booked it back in 2010...and the time is flying by! I still have lots to organise!<br /><br />We've booked the caterers (Crown Catering) and photographer (Stewart Clarke Photography)...i've got my dress sorted..DJ/Music for the evening booked (Bonehead/FirstDance Discos)..and thats it so far!<br /><br />Sort of getting there with the cake and flowers (possibly having family friends do them!)<br /><br />How is everyone else getting on? anyone else out there getting married at Kingscote in December?<br /><br />Hope everyones plans are coming along well :-)]]></description>
