About Lainston House

17th century Lainston House is a luxurious wedding venue in Hampshire surrounded by 63 acres of picturesque grounds. As well as being Licensed for Civil Ceremonies in the rustic Dawley Barn this venue also offers the option for outdoor ceremonies in warmer months. This venue can be hired exclusively including all 50 bedrooms to celebrate with all your nearest and dearest in a house party style. Lainston House is the perfect setting for your special day, with everything in one place.

Just two miles north-west of Winchester, Lainston House is a breathtakingly beautiful 17th Century country house nestling in 63 acres of stunning Hampshire countryside. As you turn into the long, sweeping, tree-lined drive, you are immediately transported to a world far away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
Delicate archways and loggias frame the picture perfect entrance and a small amble reveals a beautiful 12th century chapel ruin. With the mile-long avenue of lime trees as a backdrop there are stunning photo opportunities all year round.
Fully licensed to conduct civil ceremonies and partnerships, you can exchange your vows as well as have your wedding reception with us.
For a wedding in the warmer months, picture guests sipping bubbly and savoring delicious canapes on the rolling lawns and terraces or if it’s a winter wedding, guests can mingle in the perfectly appointed Drawing Room or Dawley Barn sipping mulled wine and enjoying the cosy opulence of the hotel.
All of our rooms and suites are individually designed so no two are the same – and if you are excited by the idea of your very own country house, Lainston House can be reserved on an “Exclusive Use” basis.

FAQs

Of Course! Exclusive use is from 1pm on the day of your wedding until 11am the following morning, unless stated otherwise.

Yes, in our Dawley Barn and in our Outdoor Pavilion.

We have our outdoor pavilion here at Lainston House which is licensed for outdoor ceremonies. At no extra cost we will also set the Dawley Barn for a wet weather plan if the Sun is shy that day!

We do not allow corkage as we are a fully serviced hotel – we have lots of options on site!

Only on a dry hire option - please call use for more information on this.

At the earliest it would be from 09:00 on the day of the wedding. This can be discussed closer to the time dependent on what is going on within the hotel; it may be possible to get in to the space sooner.

You can party right the way until midnight! We can also extend this to 1am for a further £300 fee. Guests staying on the wedding night will be able to enjoy a nightcap in our Cedar Bar.

Unfortunately we do not allow fireworks at Lainston House - sparklers are a great alternative though and these are allowed on the grounds!

We do allow confetti but it must be biodegradable and it must be thrown outside. Confetti cannons are not allowed in or outside of the hotel.

Lainston House is a flame free venue meaning lit candles are not permitted however there are amazing faux candles that you can hardly notice the difference. Great for the planet too!

Our four poster suites are usually the choice made by couples - and if booking the 16 guest bedrooms surrounding the barn on your wedding night - your four poster suite is complimentary!

Lainston House has 50 bedrooms in total. With our Exclusively Yours package, all 50 bedrooms are included in the Venue Hire. Should you then wish to resell these on to your guests, we can set you up with a unique booking code to make it really easy for guests to secure their room! If you are booking a Friday or Saturday date on our Little Slice of Lainston Package, you will be asked to guarantee the 16 guestrooms which surround the Dawley Barn (also known as Chudleigh Court) for the night of your wedding. Should you go for a Sunday to Thursday date on this package, the 16 guestrooms will still be reserved for your guests should they wish to book, however as the wedding couple you will not be liable for them. A four poster suite is complimentary for the wedding night when 16 guestrooms are booked. A discounted bedroom rate is available for you and your guests for additional nights also. These bedrooms are subject to availability and therefore we recommend booking these as early as possible. At Lainston House we have one fully accessible room suitable for wheelchair use. We have a total of 19 ground floor rooms too. Some of which are dog friendly. We have twinnable rooms available on request too.
