This company really let us down!!
We hired two vintage rolls royce cars to transport our daughter and her friends to their school leavers' prom at the end of June.
What should have been and, started off as, a very pleasant pre-prom drinks party for the seven friends and their respective families turned into an absolute fiasco!
The cars were due to arrive at 5.30pm, photos etc. until 5.50 when the cars were due to leave. 10 min drive to town and then a pleasant half hour drive around town with all the other various limos, etc. arriving at the prom 6.30pm. Well planned and foolproof, or so we thought.
The first beautiful car arrived just 5 mins late with a charming driver. Good - no problems.
Phone call from the company saying the second car would be arriving 10 mins later. Hmmmm.
At 6pm. after many phone calls to the company and the driver in question, still no second car, so the first one goes ahead with only 4 of the 'prom goers'. We wait with the remaining teenagers who are becoming increasingly anxious about the whereabouts of their car! My husband drives out to 'find' the car and we are all trying to get the rest of the friends to their prom.
At 6.25 we manage to meet up with the car - going in the opposite direction. With not even an apology from the driver.
Some of us managed to arrive at the prom - just in time to see the car drive straight past the entrance! The police, in luminous yellow jackets, who were directing the traffic, were left scratching their heads in disbelief.
You couldn't have written it!!
Our daughter's prom was a one-off event, we missed it! Only two of the twenty three parents and family at our pre- prom gathering
got to see the arrival of their son/daughter and his/her respective partner. The rest of us missed it all. I can't tell you how disappointed everyone was and how guilty we felt at having booked the cars.
To their credit, the company accepted that they were responsible in ruining the entire event and refunded the full amount of monies paid for the two cars. However, this could never compensate any of us for the fact that we missed watching our teenage children attend one of the most important events in their lives.
