Those clever people at Châteaux Bauduc in Bordeaux are extending their bespoke labelling service so that you can have your very own house wine for your wedding.
The Bauduc wines are a personal favourite in our house, and we are not alone in our view. Bordeaux Blank '09 is the house white for Gordon Ramsay's 3 Michelin Star restaurant and for the Hotel du Vin, and the Rosé is featured at Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant and is the house Rosé at Gordon Ramsay's.
There is a minimum one-off fee for the labelling of £180 – which covers the first ten cases of 12, and £1.50 per bottle thereafter. The ten cases can be made up of different wines – white, red and rosé.
The wines cost between £7.95 and £9.75 per bottle in the UK, excluding the label supplement, but they can arrange for you to collect from their Calais depot for to avoid UK duty at £2 a bottle, as long as it is for a private function such as a wedding.
