What a weekend! Guides for Brides were back exhibiting at The National Wedding Show at Olympia, London. We had an amazing three days, with hundreds of brides signing up to our online wedding planner. Our win a wedding dress competition went down a storm alongside our endless supply of jelly beans. Here's a round up of our weekend...
Proud Exhibitors
Having arrived early Friday morning, we were all ready to go with our new pop up stand and endless bags of jelly beans. Throughout the weekend we met lots of new businesses and excited brides to be. Our ultimate wedding planning check lists went down a treat, with many brides commenting on how useful such a tick list would be!
The Catwalk Show
We were stunned by the amazing show put on by the National Wedding Show. With fab designs flooding down the catwalk, we were able to catch a glimpse of upcoming bridal trends for 2016 from iconic designers such as Justin Alexander and Alfred Angelo. Hair pieces, intricate back designs and the high-low hem line all seemed to be popular trends. It was lovely to see some of our businesses such as Ellie Sanderson and Ruth Milliam showcasing their work down the runway.
Fun in the Press Office
One of the highlights had to be the press office. A quiet haven which provided a quick escape from all the hustle and bustle of the Show. A pit stop for blogging and phone charging, we found time to snap a quick photo with their Instagram frame and indulge in some cupcakes and love hearts.
Claire Ginzler's Top Tips
On Friday we managed to catch Claire Ginzler's top 1o tips for brides. From the bridesmaids and dress style to wedding theme and dress colour - Claire gave some excellent tips for spectating brides to be. Our favourite was the "outdated" white wedding dress, with colours such as champagne, oyster and blush destined for popularity in 2016. It was lovely to see the Ruth Milliam's fabulous feathered shawl featured in the show as a vintage option for bridal styling.
The Wow-factor Stand
Every exhibitor will have thought long and hard about their stand for the National Wedding Show. Making an impact and leaving a mark on passers by is hard to achieve. However, one stand that wowed everyone this year and certainly caught our eye was Amie Bone Flowers and her stunning flower stand.
An exhausting but fantastic three days - such a great opportunity to meet so many lovely brides and businesses. We're looking forward to next year already! Keep an eye on our blog for our "Top Picks from the NWS" and "Top Bridal Styles from the NWS."
