A Disney Princess for the day…

It’s every little girl’s dream to look like a Disney Princess on her wedding day.
And now the dream can become reality, thanks to Disney’s Fairy Tales Weddings by Alfred Angelo.
Wedding dress designer Angelo has come up with a series of gowns inspired by the most popular Disney Princesses – Ariel, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White and Tiana.
Liam Gallagher, Director of Fashion and Home for The Walt Disney Company UK and Ireland, added: ‘All brides want to feel like a princess on their special day and we look forward to bringing a little Disney magic to weddings across the country with this new collection of stylish Disney Princess-inspired wedding gowns.’

Do I need a Prenuptial agreement?

If you aren’t a Hollywood celeb or a member of aristocracy, do I need a prenup?
What happens if I have set up a thriving business before I met my partner or have other assets that I want to protect?
The content of a prenuptial agreement can vary widely, but commonly includes provisions for the division of property and support in the event of a divorce or separation. They may also include terms for dividing of assets as a result of divorce on the grounds of adultery, as well as custody arrangements if children are involved.
Prenuptial agreements have historically not been considered legally valid in England. This is still generally the case, although a 2010 Supreme court test case between the German heiress Katrin Radmacher and Nicolas Granatino, indicated that such agreements can “in the right case” have decisive weight in a divorce settlement.
So, if you are going to look into setting up a Prenuptial agreement each person must have sought independent legal advice for any court to consider its contents.

Spa review: Wren’s Club

The Wren's Club

The jacuzzi courtyard at Windsor's Wren's Club, one of the many Berkshire Spas we have reviewed for the new edition of the Berkshire Guide.

Marquee inspiration

Marquee decorations

Bright bold decorations can transform a marquee.

Who says marquee wedding receptions need to feature ivory drapes and white tablecloths?

This effective is not expensive to achieve; bright table cloths instead of plain white, and strings of single bulbs with cheap coloured paper light shades around instead of chandeliers. Striking flower arrangements complete the look.

This couple have shaved a huge chunk from their budget by dispensing with expensive flooring, wall linings and chair covers, yet the over all effect oozes style and extravagance.

Macaron Wedding Cakes

Hot on the heels of the trend for French Croquembouche at weddings, macaron pyramids are making an appearance at weddings this summer, particularly in London where specialist French bakeries are more accessible, although the chain bakeries are not always delivering the quality required for weddings.

Macaron Wedding Cakes

Macaron Wedding Cakes are set to be the next big trend

The colourful macarons (pronounced macaroons in the UK) are sandwiched with a light filling and displayed on an inverted cone.

As macarons can be made in virtually any colour and flavour we can see these being a huge hit for anyone wanting to add a splash of colour to their reception, and vintage colours; mint green, cream, dusky rose and lavender, work particularly well.

As specialist wedding cake suppliers catch on to the trend we can see this being 2012′s “must have” celebrity wedding cake.

Punch and Judy Shows

Punch and Judy ShowsCelebrate the 350th birthday of Mr Punch this year by including him in your wedding entertainment. Any entertainment agency will be happy to track down a local Punch and Judy show to come along and entertain any children at your reception with, Punch, Judy, Mr Policeman and of course the sausage eating crocodile.

Looking for something a bit more PC? Book a magician who can do close up magic during the drinks reception and then entertain the younger guests with a magic show later.

Topshop to launch bridal range from Richard Nicholl

Richard Nicholl

It has been announced that Topshop will launch its debut bridal range in June.
The details remain under wraps, but  it is expected that the gowns will be made from sheer fabrics and loose feminine cuts. Topshop have recruited London-based designer Richard Nicoll to design the collection.
However it is hoped that the price points will be significantly lower than his own label!

An Olympic wedding

Have you planned your wedding between the 27th July and the 12th August this year?
If you have, why not embrace the Olympic spirit and bring it to your wedding.
You could incorporate the Olympic rings and colours into your table decorations or place cards, or how about naming each table after a famous athlete?
With five colours to choose from it could make for a very colourful celebration!

ITV Daybreak’s “Here Comes the Tide”

I enjoyed watching the TV coverage of Fraser and Kate’s wedding on Daybreak this morning, the first beach wedding in the UK. For anyone wanting to see what happens at a civil ceremony it will be a good clip to watch; despite the unique setting on Bournemouth beach – it showed exactly how a normal wedding ceremony runs.

Beach Weddings in England

Bournemouth beach hut

For the first time in the UK, couples will be able to get married on the beach.

Of course it is going to rain tomorrow. ITV’s Daybreak have been running a competition to win a beach wedding on Friday 27th April 2012 live on air –  the first wedding on the beach in the UK.

Television coverage will start at 6am, with the actual wedding ceremony taking place at 8am – so make sure you set your alarms and be sure to watch history in the making. Lets hope the bride has packed her wellies!

You can get married in any permanent structure licensed for civil ceremonies, and this is the first time that a beach hut has been a licensed. Although this weekend is set to be a bit of a damp start, we can see Bournemoutth beach being a popular destination for beach weddings in the UK.
