Can you get married in church on Christmas Day?

“Can we marry on Christmas Day, Easter day or other national holidays?”

There’s no legal reason why you can’t marry on any date of the year, but some days are especially busy for the church. So long as your church and Vicar are able to work around their usual services on Holy days and Bank Holidays, there is no other reason why you can’t get married on these special days. Ask your Vicar about the possibilities.

Winter bride – what to wear?

Usually brides are keen not to cover up during the summer months, so that they can show off every detail of their wedding dress. If you are having a winter wedding this is probably not wise! So what do you wear to still look stylish and keep warm?

As long sleeve dresses are not that readily available and a pashmina can get in the way, why not consider a bolero? There are many different options for bolero’s with the most obvious winter one being faux fur. If  not fur, then lace works well with either a decorative or plain dress. Bridal wear designers such as Augusta Jones can make bolero jackets to match many of their dresses and can be either long or short sleeved.

Remember that a winter wedding invites colour! So why not look for a dress that is a little bit different – cappuccino coloured fabric or an ivory and black combination. If you are doing something a little different by having a winter wedding, why not wear something a little different too?
